Design and make your own stained glass art in this beginner-friendly stained glass workshop in Industry City, Brooklyn. Using the copper foil technique, also known as the Tiffany method, you’ll turn a simple design into a colorful decorative piece for your home. You might create a small window hanging, a geometric ornament, or another compact artwork inspired by color, shape, and line.
You can sketch your own idea or choose from the templates provided if you would rather not start from scratch. Your instructor will help you select and shape the glass before guiding you through cutting, grinding, wrapping each piece in copper foil, and soldering everything together. Simple designs are encouraged so that everyone has enough time to complete their work during the session.
Cutting glass and soldering may feel intimidating when you first see the tools, but step-by-step guidance makes the process approachable for complete beginners. You’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind stained glass piece made entirely by you, ready to hang or display at home.
SPECIAL CANCELLATION POLICY FOR THIS CLASS
This class has its own cancellation and refund policy, which applies instead of the general DoBeDoUs policy where the terms differ. Cancellations made at least 7 days before the class are eligible for a full refund of all amounts paid, including the processing fee, or full credit toward a future class with the same provider. Cancellations made between 7 days and 48 hours before the class are eligible for 50% credit toward a future class. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the class are not eligible for a refund or credit. We aim to be fair to both learners and instructors while ensuring artists and studios are paid for their work. This policy helps ensure instructors and studios are compensated for their time and preparation. We encourage learners to review class details carefully before booking and to reach out with any questions in advance.
Some classes have a class-specific cancellation, refund, or credit policy. If applicable, it will be listed in the class description and will apply where it differs from the general policy below. Please review the full class description before booking.
Tickets are refundable if canceled at least 7 days before the event. If you cancel, a cancellation fee equal to the payment processing cost for the transaction, approximately 3% of the booking total, will be deducted from your refund.
If you’re unable to attend, you’re welcome to give your ticket to a friend. Please have them check in using your name.
In the rare case that the event does not meet minimum participation requirements, we’ll contact ticket holders at least 48 hours in advance with the option to reschedule or receive a refund, excluding the nonrefundable payment processing cost.

This hands-on maker studio in Brooklyn’s Industry City helps beginners learn woodworking, welding, leathercraft, stained glass, and other practical crafts. Since 2015, its workshops have made real tools and unfamiliar materials feel approachable, with step-by-step guidance and a finished object to take home.
Classes are taught by local makers, artists, and designers in a spacious, well-equipped workshop designed for hands-on learning. The experience is practical, encouraging, and well suited for trying a new skill, planning a creative day with friends, or finding an unusual Brooklyn activity.
Please arrive about 10 minutes before the class starts so you can settle in comfortably.
