Explore linocut printmaking in this hands-on class with Brooklyn artist Heejung Cho. You’ll start by drawing an image, transfer it to a lino block, carve it, ink it, and make a series of hand-pulled prints on paper.
This linocut printmaking class in Brooklyn is open to all levels and beginner-friendly, whether you’re trying printmaking for the first time or returning to the process to make something new. Heejung will guide you through each stage while giving you room to experiment and develop your own visual approach.
By the end of the class, you’ll leave with multiple finished prints and your carved lino block, which you can use again to make more prints on your own. Keep your prints, frame them, or make extras to give to friends and family. The class takes place in a relaxed, creative Brooklyn space with spacious work areas and comfortable lounge seating.

Tickets are refundable if canceled at least 7 days before the event. If you cancel, a cancellation fee equal to the payment processing cost for the transaction, approximately 3% of the booking total, will be deducted from your refund.
If you’re unable to attend, you’re welcome to give your ticket to a friend. Please have them check in using your name.
In the rare case that the event does not meet minimum participation requirements, we’ll contact ticket holders at least 48 hours in advance with the option to reschedule or receive a refund, excluding the nonrefundable payment processing cost.

Heejung Cho is a Brooklyn-based visual artist and educator who creates wood-based sculptural paintings and woodblock prints. She has over a decade of teaching experience at institutions including Smack Mellon, P.I. Art Center, and the Museum of Arts and Design. In addition to teaching, she leads professional development workshops for educators and conducts public art demonstrations.
Heejung works across wood carving, clay, casting, sculpture, and block printmaking. Her artwork explores space, form, and memory, often looking at how materials, shapes, and structures can be taken apart and rebuilt in new ways.
Heejung teaches sculpture and block printmaking to students of all levels. She brings her experience as a practicing artist into the classroom, helping students understand both the techniques and the creative thinking behind sculpture and printmaking. In her classes, she aims to help students build creative confidence, discover their own artistic vision, and find their own voice as artists.
She has held residencies at the Museum of Arts and Design, the Newark Museum, the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, and the Women’s Studio Workshop, and has received fellowships from the Bronx Museum of the Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts.
Heejung holds an MFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts and a BFA in Sculpture from Seoul National University.
