What we love about this instructor

Floral Design Through Movement and Form

Elise’s background spans floral design, site-specific dance, and cultural leadership. Drawing from the principles of ikebana and Western choreography, she helps learners notice movement, texture, proportion, and the relationship between flowers, containers, and the surrounding space. With more than five years of teaching floral design at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, she knows how to turn these ideas into a practical and approachable design process.

A Calm, Collaborative Way to Learn

Classes are welcoming to beginners while giving more experienced participants room to explore their own ideas. Elise offers personal guidance without pushing everyone toward the same result, creating a relaxed environment where learners can experiment, exchange ideas, and develop their own eye. Participants leave with a finished arrangement, a useful design framework, and greater confidence arranging flowers on their own.

A Flexible Setting Built Around the Group

Private sessions can take place at a Cobble Hill location arranged by Elise or at a suitable location chosen by the group, such as a home, office, or other gathering space. This flexibility makes the experience easy to adapt for friends, families, celebrations, and team events. Wherever the class is held, the session remains hands-on and personal, with materials and guidance prepared for the group.
