Curious about drawing but not sure where to begin? This beginner-friendly 4-week drawing course is designed for anyone who wants to explore drawing in a relaxed and supportive environment. No prior experience necessary.

Across four sessions, participants will experiment with playful drawing exercises such as mark-making, blind contour drawing, negative space drawing, upside-down drawing, and expressive drawing prompts. Rather than focusing on technical perfection, this class encourages curiosity, experimentation, and new ways of seeing. Through guided exercises and individual support, participants will build confidence, discover enjoyable approaches to drawing, and develop a more relaxed relationship with the creative process.

Cancellation Policy

We aim to be fair to both learners and instructors while ensuring artists and studios are paid for their work. This policy helps ensure instructors and studios are compensated for their time and preparation. We encourage learners to review class details carefully before booking and to reach out with any questions in advance.

Some classes have a class-specific cancellation, refund, or credit policy. If applicable, it will be listed in the class description and will apply where it differs from the general policy below. Please review the full class description before booking.

Tickets are refundable if canceled at least 7 days before the event. If you cancel, a cancellation fee equal to the payment processing cost for the transaction, approximately 3% of the booking total, will be deducted from your refund.

If you’re unable to attend, you’re welcome to give your ticket to a friend. Please have them check in using your name.

In the rare case that the event does not meet minimum participation requirements, we’ll contact ticket holders at least 48 hours in advance with the option to reschedule or receive a refund, excluding the nonrefundable payment processing cost.

Your Instructor

Jean Oh is a New York-based visual artist and educator. She received her MFA from Pratt Institute and her BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Alongside her studio practice, she has over six years of experience teaching drawing, painting, and portfolio preparation to students ranging from elementary school to graduate level, as well as adult hobbyists.

Jean’s teaching approach balances structure and openness. She focuses on helping students build strong technical foundations while encouraging curiosity, experimentation, and individual creative direction. She tailors each class to the goals and experience level of her students, whether they are beginners exploring materials or advanced students preparing portfolios.

Students often describe her classes as supportive and focused. Through clear communication and a respectful, low-pressure learning environment, Jean helps students gain confidence in both their technical skills and their creative decision-making.
