Qiqing Lin

Lin Qiqing(pronounced Chi-Ching) is a textile artist and educator based in New York City. As a former award-winning journalist from China, she tells stories about migration, memory, identity, and language through her distinctive figurative weaving, made with hand-spun paper yarn and collages of paper and fabric.

She graduated with an MFA in Textiles at Parsons School of Design in 2023 and a BA in journalism in 2014.

Her work has been exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum, Art League Houston, Wassaic Project, Field Projects, Surface Design Association, and New York Textile Month. She has received grants from Brooklyn Arts Council, Asian American Arts Alliance, and participated in residencies at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (2023), Residency Unlimited(2024), and New York Foundation for the Arts Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program(2025).

She has extensive experience as a teaching artist, leading weaving and textile workshops for seniors, children, individuals with disabilities, and the general public. She is currently a teaching artist with Intertwine Arts and ProjectArt, and has taught at the Museum of Arts and Design, New York Textile Month, Brooklyn Arts Council, Queens Botanical Garden, Queens Public Library, and the New York Chinese Culture Salon.
