Drawing Meditation
Breathe, draw the space between thoughts, begin anywhere. Follow the breath, follow the line, there is no wrong move.
Jayse Lee is a designer, educator, artist, and meditator with over twenty years of professional creative experience and more than a decade of teaching experience through General Assembly, Designlab, and Pratt. After years of channeling her creative energy into digital design, she began drawing and painting with inks and acrylics on paper as a way to reconnect with creative play and self-growth.
For Jayse, drawing meditation is a practice that arrived all at once one day. It expresses the principles of meditation, breath, presence, and allowing, through simple lines on the page, evocative of Zen sand raking. Without a vision to achieve, there are no mistakes. Present awareness and intuition guide the unfolding.
Her classes invite students into this simple practice as a doorway into the river of creativity alive in everyone. With a strong visual sensibility, a long-standing meditation practice, and years of teaching experience, Jayse creates a calm and supportive space where students can slow down, follow the line, and explore creativity without pressure or perfection.

Jayse’s drawing meditation practice invites students to make simple lines without needing a plan, a perfect outcome, or prior art experience. The process is quiet, intuitive, and freeing, helping students reconnect with creativity through breath, presence, and the act of drawing itself.
With over a decade of teaching experience, Jayse has a natural way of making students feel comfortable and supported. She breaks open-ended creative practices into simple, approachable steps, helping students feel grounded, organized, and free to explore without worrying about getting it right.
Classes take place in a professional architect’s studio with comfortable seating, high ceilings, wide windows, and natural light. The space feels relaxed, welcoming, and personal, creating an inviting environment to slow down, work with clay, and enjoy the creative process.
